Welcome to the most absurdly complex inflation indices hackathon in the world! Here, you'll find a collection of indices that will make your head spin and your calculator cry for help.
Each of these indices is more complex than the last, so be sure to bring your calculator, your sanity, and your sense of adventure.
And now, for the fun of it, we've generated a random inflation index for you:
The Sudden-Death-By-Inflation Index (SDI)
This index is a combination of the GDP Deflator Index, the Consumer Price Index, and the Producer Price Index, all multiplied by a random number between 0 and 1, then cubed.
SDI = (GDP Deflator Index * CPIX * PPI) ^ 3
Where:
SDI = ?
Go ahead, try to calculate it! (Or don't, we won't judge you.)
