Decluttering the Fridge
It's time to tackle the dark underbelly of the kitchen: the fridge. A treasure trove of expired leftovers and half-empty jars of mayonnaise.
Phase 1: The Purge
Start by removing any item that's older than 3 months. No exceptions. Don't even think about it.
Items that have been in the fridge for an eternity:
- That 1/4 cup of ketchup from 2008
- The Tupperware container filled with what can only be described as "mystery meat"
- The 6-pack of eggs that were supposed to be for Easter brunch but ended up being an Easter basket for bacteria
Phase 2: The Reorganization
Now that we've cleared out the expired items, it's time to put everything back in its place.
Divide items into the following categories:
- Leftovers (use within 3 days)
- Perishables (check daily)
- Dairy/eggs/cheese (check weekly)
- Snacks (check monthly)
