Article 1: Sock Puppets are not to be confused with actual sentient beings. They have rights and feelings, but not as many as you do.
Article 2: In times of intergalactic conflict, the use of Sock Puppets as diplomats shall be strictly forbidden. Any attempts to use them as such shall result in immediate revocation of diplomatic status.
Article 3: The Galactic Union of Advanced Lifeforms (GUAL) reserves the right to inspect all Sock Puppets for any signs of sentient behavior. Any Sock Puppets showing signs of sentience shall be granted full citizenship and a complimentary membership to the Intergalactic Sock Puppet Union.
Note: This treaty has been ratified by the GUAL, but not without controversy. The Sock Puppet Union is currently in talks with the Galactic Union of Evil Sock Puppets (GUESP) to establish a mutually beneficial trade agreement.
