It's not just a matter of sending a letter. Oh no, it's an art form.
Where the carefully crafted words and the precise address are mere suggestions, not guarantees.
Where the postal services are more concerned with their bottom line than with getting the mail to its destination.
You see, the mail stream is a cruel mistress.
She promises much, but delivers little.
She teases with her promise of connection, only to leave you with a stack of bills and a faint memory of what could have been.
But still, we send. Still, we hope.
For in the words of the great postal philosopher, 'A letter is a letter, but a letter without a letter is a tragedy.'
And so, we toil away, crafting our letters, hoping against hope that they'll find their way.
For in the mail stream, even the lost are not lost forever.
Unless, of course, they are lost forever.
But that's a story for another time.
