Ant Traps: The Buggin' Art Project

Artist's Statement

As a leading expert in entomology, I, Dr. Buggsworth, have always been fascinated by the complex social structures of ants. In my art project, Ant Traps, I aim to capture the essence of these six-legged creatures in a series of intricate, interactive installations.

Using nothing but wire and glue, I create intricate traps that not only ensnare ants but also reflect their intricate communication networks. It's a commentary on our own societal structures and the ways in which we are all just trapped in our own systems.

Current Installations

• Trapping the Unconscious - A series of mirrored tunnels that reflect the ants' ability to navigate through the darkest of places with ease
• The Colony's Labyrinth - A maze of twisting tunnels that mimic the ants' complex social hierarchies
• The Scent of Deception - A trap that uses pheromones to lure ants in, only to have them find themselves in a hall of mirrors
