The Great "Chthonic" Debacle
When linguists tried to make the word "chthonic" sound like it was a real word, they ended up with a mess.
Apparently, it's supposed to mean "of the earth" (like, who doesn't know that?). But no, they had to go and make it sound like it's about... wait for it... underground caves.
Because, you know, who needs a simple, straightforward word when you can have a fancy-pants Greek prefix, am I right?
