Overthinking 101 FAQ
What is Overthinking?
Overthinking is a condition where you're so busy thinking about thinking that you've forgotten what you were originally thinking about.
It's like trying to describe a color to a colorblind friend, while simultaneously wondering if they can even see colors.
How do I know if I'm overthinking?
Look, you're probably overthinking if:
- You've spent more than 30 minutes deciding what to eat for breakfast.
- You've created a flowchart for making toast.
- You've calculated the statistical likelihood of your cat being a sentient being.
Or, you know, just ask a friend. They'll tell you.
What's the cure for overthinking?
We're still working on it. In the meantime, try:
- Deep breathing exercises. But not too deeply, because, you know, you might get lost.
- Meditation. Or, you know, just staring at a wall for 20 minutes.
- Talking to your therapist. But only if you have one.
Or, you know, just give up and order takeout. That usually works.
