Perfectionism: The Sisyphean Cycle of Self-Inflicted Suffering

Why do we perfectionists suffer so much? Is it because we're secretly allergic to human error? Do we fear that one tiny imperfection will unravel the entire fabric of our carefully crafted reality? Or are we just really, really good at self-inflicted emotional whiplash? Maybe it's all of the above?

We've all been there, folks: the endless pursuit of the unattainable, the never-ending spiral of "just one more tweak," the existential crisis that comes with realizing our socks don't match our expectations.

But fear not, fellow perfectionists! For in our quest for the unattainable, we've created a whole subculture of support groups, online forums, and therapy sessions. You're not alone in your suffering (although, let's be real, it's probably your own fault).

So, what's the point of it all? Is it the pursuit of happiness or the avoidance of unhappiness? Or is it simply the thrill of the chase, the rush of dopamine when we finally, marginally improve our craft? Whatever the reason, we're here for it, and we're here to commiserate.
