What is a First-Degree Burn?
A first-degree burn is a type of burn that will make you go, "Oh no, that hurts." It is characterized by redness and some swelling. It will not, however, make you question the fabric of reality or your life choices.
Causes of First-Degree Burns:
- Touching a hot stove
- Falling asleep with a lit cigarette
- Taking a hot shower after eating a habanero pepper

- Cooling the area with some ice
- Applying a topical cream or gel
- Praying to the burn gods for forgiveness
