A Ghost Story of Unrequited Love
Once upon a time, in a land of eternal twilight, there lived a ghost named Ghastly. Ghastly was a ghost with a heart of stone and a soul of ash.
Ghastly fell deeply in love with a living maiden named Lily. She was a beauty with skin as pale as the moon and hair as black as the night. Alas, she did not feel the same way about Ghastly, finding his ghostly presence to be more of a bother than a boon.
Undeterred, Ghastly continued to pine for Lily, showering her with gifts of rare, ghostly artifacts and poems of longing. But still, she did not reciprocate his affections, and so Ghastly was forced to resort to more...unconventional means.
Ghastly began to haunt Lily's dreams, appearing to her in visions of eerie, glowing ectoplasm. He'd whisper sweet nothings in her ear, and she'd wake with a start, wondering if she was going mad.
But still, she did not love him back, and so Ghastly's ghostly heart grew colder with each passing night. And so, he did the only thing he could do... He cooked up a scheme.
