It turns out, exceptions are actually just rules in disguise.
Or so says the Exception Council.
The Exception Council is a secret society of grammarians who've had it up to here with all these "rules" and "subject-verb agreements".
They're like, "You know what? We're going to make up some new rules, and we're going to call them exceptions."
And just like that, exceptions became the new normal.
