Meditation 101: Because Adulting is Hard
Step 1: Find a Quiet Place
Not your living room, not your bed, not the local library. Find a quiet place. Like a cave or a mountain top. Or just the couch in the basement with the old, dusty furnace.
Step 2: Focus on Your Breath
Like, actually try to focus. Don't think of your to-do list, don't think of what you had for lunch, don't think about your ex. Just the breath, man.
Step 3: Be Kind to Your Inner Child
Let go of the judgmental thoughts, let go of the self-doubt, let go of the crippling anxiety. Be kind, like a benevolent dictator.
Step 4: Practice Regularly (But Not Too Regularly)
You know, like, not every day, but, like, every other day. Unless you're a monk or a yogi or something. Then, like, go for it.
