Ultrasonic Repair: A Guide for the Uninitiated

Warning: Ultrasonic repair is not for the faint of heart. It's loud, it's messy, and it's occasionally explosive. But hey, someone's gotta do it.

		
Step 1: Prepare for Battle
		

			
Put on your earplugs
			
Don your protective eyewear
			
Step back 10 feet from the mangled gearbox
		
		
Step 2: Disassemble the Mangled Gearbox
		

			
Remove any loose screws
			
Prise open the casing (caution: may be stuck)
			
Extract the innards (if you dare)
		
		
Step 3: Apply Ultrasonic Voodoo Magic
		

			
Connect the ultrasonic transducer
			
Set the frequency to 'explode'
			
Press start, and hold on for dear life
		
		
Step 4: Reassemble the Mangled Gearbox
		

			
Put back the innards
			
Reattach the casing (fingers crossed)
			
Tighten any loose screws
		
		
Step 5: Test, Repeat, and Pray
		

			
Turn it on, and hope for the best
			
If it breaks again, start over
			
Repeat as necessary
