Chivalry 101: Dealing with Teasing
In medieval times, a knight's reputation was not just about bravery in battle, but also about his ability to withstand a good-natured jest.
Teasing is a delicate art, my friends. A well-timed jest can be a sign of camaraderie, but a poorly timed jape can lead to a duel at dawn.
So, how do you deal with the constant barrage of 'your-hair-is-as-bright-as-your-armor' and 'you-looks-like-a-walking-sausage'?
Here's a few tips:
1. Develop a sense of humor about it. After all, if you can't laugh at yourself, you'll never make it to the end of this course.
2. Learn to wield a witty retort. A good knight always has a clever comeback ready, lest his opponent be left wondering if he's been struck by a 'sudden case of the farts'.
3. Practice your sword-fighting skills. A knight who can defend himself with a sword can also defend himself with words.
That's all for today, class. Remember, in the words of our great knightly philosopher, Sir Reginald the Ridiculous: 'When in doubt, punch 'em in the nose. Unless, of course, it's a lady. Then just give 'em a nice smile and a pat on the back.'
