Meditate: 4-7-8 Breathing Technique
Also known as the "Sitting Down and Doing Nothing" technique, 4-7-8 breathing is an ancient art of relaxation.
- Close your eyes and sit comfortably, with your back straight.
- Inhale through your nose for a count of four, filling your lungs with air.
- Hold your breath for a count of seven, trying not to pass out.
- Exhale through your mouth for a count of eight, feeling your lungs collapse.
Repeat this cycle for several minutes, or until you feel your blood pressure drop.
- Box Breath – A variation of the 4-7-8 with a boxy twist.
- Alternate Box Breath – Because who needs consistency, anyway?
