Moon Landing Disaster

A satirical look at the most epic space blunder in human history

It's the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing Disaster, and we're still trying to figure out what went wrong.

On July 20, 1969, NASA's Apollo 11 mission set off with high hopes and a questionable haircut.

The Eagle lunar module, piloted by Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, was supposed to land on the Moon's surface with ease.

But instead, they overshot the landing site by, uh, about 1 mile, and had to make an emergency course correction using a nearby asteroid as a makeshift air traffic controller.

Needless to say, the mission's publicist was not available for comment.
