Office Politics Pitfalls: Are you a Moron?

Step 2: Bad Mouthing the Boss

Are you tired of being seen as a competent and capable employee? Do you long for the days of being viewed as a dimwitted simpleton?

Well, we've got just the thing for you!

  1. Start by consistently misusing words: 'I meant to say I'm not sure what you're talking about.' becomes 'I said I'm not sure what you're talking about.'
  2. Next, master the art of interrupting: 'Excuse me, excuse me.' becomes 'Excuse me!' (repeated 5-7 times in rapid succession)
  3. And for the coup de grĂ¢ce, perfect the art of backhanded compliments: 'You're really good at this, but you could improve.' becomes 'You're really bad at this, but you could improve.'

Remember, it's all about subtlety and misdirection. A little bit of 'uh-huh, yeah' and 'hmm' can go a long way in making you appear as a moron.
