Other Notable Escape Room Mechanics
Because You Clearly Enjoy the Thrill of Possibly Dying in a Windowless Room
Here's a list of other escape room mechanics that are almost as exciting as the ones you're used to, but slightly worse.
Physics-Based Puzzles
- Press the button to open the door, which will inevitably lock again, trapping you in the room.
- Try to balance on one foot while the other room occupants are trying to solve the same thing on their own, because teamwork is overrated
- Use the provided 10mg of dust to fix the 10kg of gears in the 10-year-old clock, because precision engineering is a thing of the past
Mechanical Puzzles
- Solve the cryptic message on the chalkboard that only makes sense to someone who's been in an asylum for 10 years
- Use the provided 20mm of WD-40 to fix the 20cm of stuck machinery, because oiling it up will surely fix everything
- Clean the dust off the laser beam, which will then magically fix itself, because that's not a thing that's ever happened before
Other Puzzles
- Try to remember the combination to the safe, but it's been changed 5 times already, and you're not exactly sure what it was
- Count down from 10, 9, 8... while the room starts to fill with water, because that's just good old-fashioned fun
- Solve the mirror puzzle, which will only work on Tuesdays, because the mirror is clearly possessed
If you've made it out of this room, you deserve a cookie. If you haven't, well, you're probably stuck in here forever.
