Overengineering: The Art of Making a Toaster Look Good
It starts with a simple toaster. A toaster that just...toasts. But you, dear engineer, you want more. You want a toaster that not only toasts, but also plays "La Ciecle" when you insert a CD. A CD that's actually a 3D printed model of the Eiffel Tower. And that's just the beginning.
- Step 1: Redesign the toaster's circuit board to include an Arduino Mega 2560 and a Raspberry Pi Zero W. Because, why not?
- Step 2: Add a 3D printed Eiffel Tower CD holder that plays the soundtrack of La Vie en Rose on repeat. Forever.
- Step 3: Implement an API that fetches the weather, so the toaster can adjust its toast's browning based on the outside temperature.
- Step 4: Integrate a camera system that takes a selfie every time someone uses the toaster. Because, who doesn't want to document their breakfast?
And that's just the beginning. Next, I'll be integrating a toaster that also makes waffles. And not just any waffles, but also... Waffles that shoot out into space.
(Note: Please do not attempt to actually launch any waffles into space. That would be bad. Really bad.)
