Logical Fallacies: Slippery Slopes

Also known as: Red Herrings, Straw Men, and Slippery Slopes

A Slippery Slope is when you assume that one thing leads to another, even though it's not necessarily true. It's like saying, "If I get a raise, I'll buy a new car, and then I'll get a mansion, and then I'll start a charity!" It's not necessarily true, but it sounds good in your head.

Here are some examples of Slippery Slopes:

Example 1: "If I get a raise, I'll buy a new car!"

Example 2: "If I get a raise, I'll buy a new house!"

Example 3: "If I get a raise, I'll retire early!"
