Parasocial Identity Disorder
A Condition Where You Spend More Time on Social Media Than in Real Life
Warning: This site may cause excessive eye strain, decreased productivity, and an increased desire for validation.
Are you a social media addict? Do you find yourself mindlessly scrolling through feeds, comparing your life to others, and wondering why you're not "good enough"? Congratulations, you may have Parasocial Identity Disorder!
Parasocial Identity Disorder is a real condition, although it's not officially recognized by the medical community (yet). It's a condition where you spend so much time on social media that you start to confuse it with reality.
Imagine a world where you've got 500 friends, but none of them can actually hear you, see you, or smell you. Sounds familiar? That's basically what parasocial identity is.
But don't worry, it's curable! Just delete your social media apps, go outside, and engage in activities that don't involve a screen. Or, you know, just take a few deep breaths and try to focus on your own identity.
