Background
In a shocking turn of events, the asteroid that was supposed to be destroyed has turned out to be a sentient being with its own lawyer.
The asteroid, named "Rocky," has filed a class-action lawsuit against the Galactic Union of Advanced Lifeforms (GUAL) for "emotional distress" caused by the initial plans to destroy it.
As a result, the entire asteroid mission has been put on hold until the GUAL lawyers can work out a deal with Rocky's lawyer, who is demanding a 50% share of the galaxy's resources.
The GUAL has offered to create a special "Asteroid Rights Task Force" to negotiate with Rocky, but so far, nothing has been agreed upon.
