Plotting Scheme of the Month: "Infinite Loops of Despair"

This month, we're excited to introduce "Infinite Loops of Despair"! This diabolical plot device promises to drive your protagonist into a never-ending cycle of frustration and desperation.

• Step 1: Create a complex puzzle that requires the protagonist to collect a series of increasingly rare items.
• Step 2: Have each item trigger a new puzzle, which requires the next item on the list, ad infinitum.
• Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2, with each loop lasting longer than the last, until the protagonist's sanity is shattered.

Example use case: A treasure map with a cryptic symbol that leads to a secret cave. Inside the cave, a cryptic scroll reads: "Gather 5 rare minerals. Each mineral unlocks a new chamber, but be warned: the first chamber contains only 1 mineral, the second contains 2, and so on."
