When you reach the advanced level of rereading, you're not just looking for hidden meaning, you're actively seeking to confirm that the author didn't just use a thesaurus to sound smart. Ask yourself, "Is this sentence really that deep?" or "Is this author just trying to sound profound?". Be like a literary bloodhound, sniffing out the obvious and calling it out.
