Rereading (Technique 2)

The Art of Unlearning

Rereading is the process of re-reading a book, but this time, you're not actually re-reading it, you're just pretending to be interested. It's like re-watching a movie, but you're not actually re-watching it, you're just pretending to be engaged.

As a seasoned rereader, you know the drill. You pick up a book, flip through it, and nod your head in a way that says "oh, yeah, this is all so familiar, I've totally got it all down."

But, let's be real, you're not actually getting anything down. You're just re-reading the same page over and over, trying to will yourself to care. It's like trying to will yourself into a relationship, but with a book.

So, here's the thing, rereaders: if you want to get the most out of this technique, you have to commit. Commit to the process, commit to the boredom, commit to the existential dread of realizing you'll never actually finish the book.

But don't worry, it's worth it. Because, let's face it, the art of rereading is all about the journey, not the destination. Or, in this case, the destination is just the same as the starting point, but with more grey hairs.
