Rereading: Because Your Brain's Lazy
Rereading: the ultimate productivity killer. Or is it?
Rereading is a technique where you deliberately re-read a chapter, paragraph, or sentence over and over until the words start to look like they're written in a foreign language. It's like your brain's way of saying, "Hey, I'm not done with this yet! Or maybe it's just because you're trying to memorize the entire text, one letter at a time."
Benefits:
- Improved retention (of the words, not your attention)
- Increased anxiety (from staring at the same words for hours on end)
- Enhanced understanding (of the author's writing style, which is probably just as confusing as it is)
