Fluffy Maple Granola
Fluffy Maple Syrup Granola
A recipe for the discerning, yet slightly dim-witted
Warning: this recipe is not for the faint of heart. It requires a delicate balance of sweet and savory, and a pinch of pure, unadulterated whimsy.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup maple syrup (grade B: it's a matter of personal taste)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate chips (because why not?]
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Mix the oats, syrup, and pecans in a bowl, then stare at it for 10 minutes, contemplating the meaning of life.
- Add the chocolate chips, coconut oil, vanilla extract, and ginger. Stir until the mixture is just slightly less chunky than a dumpster fire.
- Sprinkle the mixture onto a baking sheet, then stare at it for another 10 minutes, wondering if you've made a terrible mistake.
- Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, or until it's just slightly less crunchy than a fresh-fried egg.
- Let cool, then serve with a side of existential dread.
