Matching Literal Characters

Use the ^ character to match the start of a line.

Example:

^\d+

Matches any lines that start with one or more digits.

Matching Groups

Use parentheses to create groups and match them.

Example:

(\w+)\s+(\w+)

Matches any two words separated by a space.
