Assemble the sauce-tasting council. This consists of 5-7 members, each with a unique palate and expertise.
Each member must have a spoon, a napkin, and a pen.
Designate one member as the "Saucier" - the leader of the council.
Present the Saucier with a blank slate of plain white sauce.
The Saucier must then add 3-5 distinct flavor components (e.g., herbs, spices, oils) to create a base sauce.
Each council member must contribute their own unique sauce component to the base sauce, one at a time, with a brief explanation of their choice.
The council members must taste the sauce, one by one, and record their thoughts on the Saucier's notebook.
A simple "yes" or "no" will suffice, but the more detailed the feedback, the better.
Review the feedback, tally the votes, and make adjustments as needed.
The Saucier must then rework the sauce, incorporating the council's suggestions and recommendations.
