Before starting the scratching post cleaning routine, ensure you've donned your hazmat suit.
1. Remove any loose catnip or cat treats from the area.
2. Spray the area with a fine mist of disinfectant.
3. Put on your favorite hazmat suit and gloves.
4. Begin the actual cleaning process.

3. Apply a generous amount of hand sanitizer.
