After 20 years, 30 years, 40 years, or more, of perfecting the art of making pasta sauce, we've finally cracked the code.
It's a sauce so divine, so sublime, that it'll make you wonder how you ever settled for that other stuff.
Here's the recipe:
- 1 cup of disappointment from your childhood
- 2 cups of regret for settling for that other stuff
- 3 tablespoons of tears, shed for the years spent eating poorly
- 1 teaspoon of hope, for a better tomorrow (or yesterday)
- 1/4 cup of olive oil, to represent the tears you're about to shed
- 1 can of crushed dreams, representing the flavor you'll add to your sauce
- 1 pinch of despair, for the realization that you're still eating pasta
Instructions:
- Pour the disappointment into a pot, over medium heat.
- Add the regret, stirring until it's fully incorporated.
- Shred the tears into tiny pieces and add them to the pot.
- Stir in the hope, until it's fully dissolved.
- Drizzle in the olive oil, and watch as the flavors come together in perfect harmony.
- Add the crushed dreams, and stir until they're fully incorporated.
- Finally, add the pinch of despair, and serve.
