It starts innocently enough, a casual debate about nothing in particular.

You say something witty, a clever remark that you're certain will be the coup de grace.

But then they counter with a devastating blow, a single, well-crafted sentence that reduces your entire argument to rubble.

You try to retort, but it's too late. The damage is done. You're left standing alone, your words reduced to a mere whisper.

And so you slink away, defeated, wondering how things got so far gone.
