Located in the basement of a nondescript building, the SIU is responsible for categorizing socks into various degrees of disarray.

Using advanced algorithms and a keen eye for detail, the SIU sorts socks by:

• Toe tag (a.k.a. "The Sock's personal preference")
• Material (cotton, polyester, etc.)
• Color (yes, even if it's just a slight variation of white)
• Smell (a.k.a. "The Sock's unique aroma")
