Welcome to the Sock Matching Experiment, where we're on a quest to find the perfect sock match. We've got 100 pairs of socks, and they're all jumbled up in a big ol' bucket. Our goal is to sort them out into matching pairs.
We've got a few different phases planned for this experiment. Phase 1, The Sock Shuffle, is all about just getting the socks out of the bucket and onto a big table for sorting. Next up is Phase 2: The Sock Sort, where we'll be using fancy algorithms and machines to try and figure out which socks go together.
But for now, let's just focus on getting all the socks onto the table. We're using a big ol' grid system, with each sock on its own square. It's a little like a game of Sock Tetris, but instead of blocks, we're using feet.
Want to see how it's going? Check out the Phase 1 Progress page for a live update on our Sock Shuffle.
Or, if you're feeling generous, consider donating some socks to our cause. Every sock counts, and we can't do it without you!
Coming soon! (Or maybe not. We're still working on the algorithms.)
Stay tuned for updates on our progress, and maybe even join the Sock Horde, our community of sock enthusiasts and enthusiasts of socks.
