Why Socks?
It's simple: socks are cheap, readily available, and have an infinite variety of designs. Why not use them as art supplies?
Basic Sock Techniques
1. Sock Weaving (aka, just tie the socks together)
- Experiment with different knotting patterns to create unique textures and designs
- Use a variety of materials for the 'weaving' (e.g., string, twine, or yarn)
2. Sock Sculpture (aka, just stack the socks)
- Experiment with different sock heights and angles to create visually striking compositions
- Use a sturdy base for support (e.g., a cardboard box or a friend's foot)
3. Sock Painting (aka, just color the socks)
- Use fabric paint or markers to add vibrant, temporary designs
- Experiment with different color palettes for maximum effect
