Socks as Fashion

A Brief History of Sockdom

It all began in the 19th century, when the first sock factories were established. The industrial revolution brought mass production, and with it, an onslaught of colorful, striped, and argyle'd socks that took the world by storm. Or should we say, took the feet by storm?

Fast forward to the 1960s, when sock culture reached new heights with the rise of mod fashion. Socks became a staple in every fashionista's wardrobe, with bold patterns and bright hues that made a statement.

And then, the 1980s happened. The era of neon, of pastel, of socks that were more like miniature art pieces than mere foot coverings. Socks were the true heroes of fashion, and we're still feeling the effects today.
