Heisenberg's most famous principle states that a cat in a box cannot be simultaneously observed and not observed.

But what about a cat outside the box? Can we be certain of its presence?

Or, for that matter, what if the cat is not just a cat, but a metaphorical representation of the observer's ego? Then what does it mean to observe it?

Is it possible to have a box that's not a box, but just a representation of a box?
