The year is 1987. The basement of 1313 Cemetery Drive is said to be haunted by the vengeful spirit of a disgruntled former occupant. Our team of experts, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and an unhealthy dose of hubris, has been called in to investigate.
As we make our way down into the damp, dimly lit depths of the basement, the air grows thick with anticipation. Our ghost hunting gear at the ready, we split into teams to cover the vast, unfinished space.
Team Alpha, led by our fearless leader, Bob, takes the east wing, while Team Bravo, led by the fearless yet slightly less experienced, Karen, takes the west. I, the stealthy Steve, take the central corridor, where the most activity is reported.
As we begin our sweep, strange noises start to manifest. A faint whispering in the wall, a creaking of the old wooden beams, a faint humming in the ductwork. The team's excitement grows, but also their skepticism.
But then, it happens. A loud, blood-curdling scream echoes through the basement, sending us all scrambling for cover.
The scream seems to come from the east wing, where Team Alpha is investigating the old furnace. We rush to their aid, ready to face whatever malevolent force we may encounter.
