A Brief History of Self-Driving Cars

It all started in the 80s with Stanley Roberts's 1987 self-driving Stanley Roberts Self-Driving Car which was basically just a dude in a wheelchair with a toy car in front of him.

Then Elon Musk came along and made the whole world realize that self-driving cars are the future with his Telsa Model S which was basically just a really expensive car with a really good GPS.

But the real game changer was when Google decided to make self-driving cars because, let's be real, who needs a company that's been around for 20 years to have a good idea when a giant tech firm can just make one up in 5 minutes.

And so here we are. Self-driving cars. The future of transportation. Or at least the future of really expensive transportation.
