Technical Pretzel Journal: 2022-03-03 - Fixing the Printer... Again

By J. T. Pretzelstein, Chief Pretzel Technician

Another day, another printer to fix. Because, apparently, our company's printers have a personal vendetta against us. I swear, it's like they're trying to drive us all crazy.

Incident Report

Printer #4, the one with the wonky paper jam, decided to act up again this morning. I'm talking multiple paper jams, multiple times. I'm starting to think it's sentient.

After some careful diagnosis (read: banging on it with a screwdriver), I found the issue to be a wonky roller bearing. Who knew?

Resolution

I replaced the roller bearing, which fixed the problem. But, of course, this just led to another issue. Apparently, the new roller bearing caused the printer to start spitting out 100s of pages of random cat pictures at 3am. I'm starting to think it's just a bad printer.

I'll have to get the IT guy to come take a look at this one. Maybe he can figure out why the printer is trying to turn itself into a cat-themed art project.
