Skydiving for Beginners: A Guide

Warning: Skydiving is not for the faint of heart. Or the faint of wallet. Or anyone who likes their face intact.

First things first, you’ll need some gear. A good skydiver never skydives with just a parachute and a prayer.

Step 1: Find a Good Skydiving Spot

Look for a nice, open field with a few trees. Or a large, abandoned quarry. Just kidding, don’t do that. Do it over a nice, flat, open body of water. With a instructor.

Check out our Skydiving Spot Checklist to ensure you don’t end up in a field of cacti.

Verify your instructor’s credentials before signing on the dotted line.
