When the alarm blares and the sprinklers activate, it's time to get serious. Learn the proper techniques to save the day.
The PASS technique stands for Protect, Alarms, Search, Shout, and Smokey. Protect yourself and others by staying alert and aware of your surroundings. Alarms will sound to warn you of the danger. Search for the source of the fire, but be careful not to get too close. Shout for help, and if you're really stuck, shout loudly. And if all else fails, smoke your way out.
For the more... Ninja-like operator, the NEC technique is a must. Never Extinguish, Expose, and Call. Never expose yourself to the flames, but rather, expose the enemy by revealing their hiding spot. Then, call for help with a calm and collected tone.
Not as stealthy, but still a viable option, the REAS technique involves Rushing, Extinguishing, And Shouting. Rush to the fire, extinguish it with a firehose, and then shout about it for the rest of the building.
Finally, for the truly Brutal operator, the RAVE technique is a must. Run away, Activate the sprinklers, Ventilate the area, and extinguish and run like the wind.
Remember, safety first, and always wear your flame-resistant uniform when engaging in fire extinguishing activities.
