What is the Meaning of Sleep?
A question that haunts us all. Or, you know, the ones of us who don't have an alarm blaring in their face every 5 minutes.
Sleep: The Unsolved Mystery
It's a phenomenon that's been puzzling scientists and non-scientists alike for centuries. Some say it's a state of being unconscious, but is it just a fancy way of saying "I'm too tired to care?"
Sleep Patterns
- REM Sleep: When your brain's a raccoon in a blender, trying to process all the dreams it's having
- Non-REM Sleep: When it's just a dull, monotonous cycle of "I'm alive, I'm awake, I'm alive, I'm awake"
- REM Sleep: The 5-minute increments of "OH NO, I'M GOING TO SLEEP TOO SOON, I NEED TO REMEMBER ALL MY DREAMS!"
- Non-REM Sleep: The 5-hour increments of "I'm still awake, I'm just resting my eyes, I'm just resting my eyes, I'M STILL AWAKE."
And don't even get me started on the sleep cycle's cousin, the Insomnia Industry...
