The Time-Out Technique: Countermeasures

Warning: Do not attempt this technique without proper training. Side effects may include: excessive daydreaming, spontaneous napping, and irreversible boredom.

Step 1: Prepare the Battlefield

Clear the area around you of any distractions. Remove any sharp objects, electronic devices, and potentially hazardous materials. You may want to cover your furniture in plastic or set up a crash pad in the corner.

Step 2: Set the Clocks to 3:14 AM

Disable any automatic time-setting features on your devices. Set your clock to 3:14 AM. This will simulate a perpetual state of being perpetually late for work/school/appointments. Repeat as needed.

Step 3: Activate the Boredom Engine

Play soothing, yet maddeningly repetitive music. Display the same 5 minutes of elevator music on a loop. You may want to add a strobe light or a lava lamp for extra ambiance.
