Italic Misuse: The Unfortunate Case of Italics Gone Wrong

Caused by: Overly Ambitious Designers

Italics are not just for show, folks! They're not a font size or color choice, they're a stylistic device meant to add emphasis and flair to your writing. But, it seems, some designers just can't resist the urge to overdo it.

Imagine a world where italics are used to convey excitement, where they're used to highlight the most mundane of phrases: "I'm going to the store, I'm so excited!"

Or, worse still, where italics are used to convey sarcasm, where they're used to imply that you're being facetious: "I'm so not going to do my homework."

Don't get me wrong, italics have their place. But, please, for the love of all things typographical, use them wisely.
