Using A Map

Maps are the ultimate tool for finding your way, unless you're lost in the wilderness, in which case you're probably on the wrong path.

But have you ever stopped to consider the art of actually using a map?

Mastering the Ancient Art of Map Reading is a lost art, a dying skill, but not a dead one.

Here's a few tips to get you started:

Start by orienting the map. Not just your body, although that's a good starting point too.
Identify the scale. Don't worry, it's not as hard as it sounds. It's just a fancy way of saying "this is how big things are."
Determine your location. Unless you're on a treasure hunt, in which case, you're probably on a treasure map.
Plot your course. Or, you know, just wing it. We won't judge you.
