Survival Hacks 001: Step 4 - Building a Shelter

Step 4: Building a Shelter

When the apocalypse strikes, you'll need a place to hide from the impending doom. Not just any shelter will do; it needs to be a well-structured, well-defensible, well-fortified shelter.

Here's a step-by-step guide to building your own shelter:

  1. Find a suitable location: A dry, flat area with minimal risk of flooding and landslides.
  2. Cover the floor and walls with a layer of plastic sheeting or tarps.
  3. Construct a frame using 2" x 4" lumber or PVC pipes.
  4. Add roofing material, such as corrugated metal or asphalt shingles.
  5. Seal any gaps or holes with insulation and caulk.
  6. Add a door, preferably with a secure locking mechanism.

A simple shelter, like this one, will protect you from the elements and any marauders. But, let's be real, it's not going to be a five-star resort. You might have to sacrifice some comfort for security.
