On the Quantification of Sock Entropy

By Prof. S. P. Bottomsworth, Ph.D., Expert on Sock ValuMetrication

Abstract: This treatise proposes a novel approach to measuring the entropy of socks, a hitherto unquantified phenomenon.

Introduction

Sock entropy, a concept first introduced by the great philosopher, Prof. Sockius Maximus, is a fundamental property of the sock universe.

In this paper, we present a new method for calculating the Sock ValuMetrication, a metric that captures the essence of sock disorder and randomness.

Methodology

We propose a multi-stage approach to Sock ValuMetrication:

  1. Stage 1: Sock Sorting
  2. Stage 2: Sock Pairing
  3. Stage 3: Sock Folding
  4. Stage 4: Sock Tumbling

Stage 1: Sock Sorting

Initial Sock Sorting is a crucial step in the Sock ValuMetrication process.

A custom-built sorting machine, affectionately known as "Sock-O-Matic," is used to separate socks into six distinct categories:
