Technique 13: The Art of Projecting Your Sense of Self
Neural mapping, the practice of projecting your ego onto a map, is a delicate art. It requires a keen sense of self and a disregard for the actual layout of reality.
Start by finding a large, blank piece of paper or whiteboard. This will serve as the foundation for your projected self.
- Draw a large dot to represent your personal center of gravity. This will be the epicenter of your being.
- Surround the dot with a series of squiggly lines, representing the tendrils of your extended self. These lines should be thick and bold, like your personality.
- Add a few smaller dots and lines to represent your sub-personalities. These can be placed at varying distances from the center, but should never be too close, lest they become indistinguishable from the main self.
- Finally, add a large, swooping line to represent your projected self. This should be bold, confident, and slightly askew, like a drunk uncle at a family reunion.
Step back and admire your handiwork. You are now a master of neural mapping, capable of projecting your sense of self onto any surface.
