Method 1: The Hard Reset
For when you've really had it up to here, and the power button won't cut it.
Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Delete for 10 seconds while whispering "I will not cry, I will not cry, I will just restart."

For when the power button still won't have it.
Unplug the power cord, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in while shouting "I've had enough!"
Repeat as necessary. Or just unplug and plug again until the universe makes sense.
